Dr. Scott A. Emalfarb, D.D.S., graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 1985 and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1989 from Loyola University School of Dentistry.  After working at other dental practices, Dr. Emalfarb purchased Lake View Dental Associates in 1994 and has been working here since.  He is affiliated with many dental organizations such as the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and American Equilibration Society.  Dr. Emalfarb is also certified in Invisalign and soft tissue laser therapy.

Dr. Emalfarb was born in Chicago, IL, he grew up in Skokie, and currently resides in Lincolnwood.  Having lived in the Chicagoland area his whole life, Dr. Emalfarb is a big Chicago sports fan.  He also enjoys winter sports, fishing, running, watching movies, and eating. When asked about dentistry, Dr. Emalfarb states that it is an ideal profession for him.  He enjoys meeting and getting to know his patients.  Dr. Emalfarb aspires to help patients take care of their immediate and long term dental needs.  He receives great satisfaction recommending dental solutions and delivering great smiles to his patients.  Come on in and meet him for yourself, you won’t be sorry!

Dr. Matthew W. Reese, D.D.S., graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology in 1995 and his Doctor in Dental Surgery in 1999, both from the University of Michigan.  Practicing dentistry enables Dr. Reese to apply his creative energy and technical skill to help people improve their smiles.  He believes that it is a great time to be in the profession because advances in techniques and materials now allow him to help his patients achieve optimal oral health and aesthetics more predictably and comfortably than ever before.  As a third generation dentist, Dr. Reese continues a proud tradition of excellence and service.   Dr. Reese is excellent at making sure his patients are comfortable and making their dental visits as relaxing as possible.

Jennifer Grimm, RDH, graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia in 2006.  In addition to providing care for her patients, Jennifer is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Chicago Dental Hygienists’ Society.  She loves to educate both her patients and the public about the benefits of achieving excellent oral health. 

Jennifer recently married in 2011, and is currently keeping busy raising her puppy with her husband in their condo in Lakeview.  While at home she enjoys cooking, baking, and creating unique sushi rolls.  She also loves to travel with her husband and makes sure to document their vacations with her interest in digital photography.  Jennifer’s calming personality is sure to keep your hygiene visit a wonderful experience!

Juliette McCormick, joined Lake View Dental Associates as a dental assistant in 2002 and is currently the office manager.  Her many years at the office has made her more of a friend to our patients than anything else.  Juliette’s warm smile greets patients as soon as they enter the office.  Juliette keeps the office running while making sure that all patients’ needs and expectations are met.  She loves helping others and her job brings her great confidence, happiness, and satisfaction.

Juliette lives with her husband and her two cats in the Northwest side of Chicago.  She loves watching movies, reading, and spending time with her family.  She also enjoys a good adrenaline rush and fulfills the need by jet skiing, snowmobiling, riding roller coasters, and watching cage fighting.  Juliette’s always excited to hear one’s travel stories, given she has never ridden on an airplane! 

Ambreen Badruddin, started off at Lake View Dental Associates in 2006 as a dental assistant and currently works at the front desk as the financial coordinator.  Ambreen helps patients check out after appointments, estimates financial responsibility, submits dental claims, presents treatment plans, and reviews financing options.  She works closely with the insurance coordinator to try and avoid any financial surprises.  Ambreen loves to watch a patient’s confidence level grow during dental visits giving them that bigger, brighter, bolder smile!

Ambreen lives in a condo in Skokie with her husband, Dean, and their son, Jaydin.  She loves soaking up the sun and lives for those hot summer days.  Ambreen enjoys visits to the park, zoo, beach, and malls.  She’s a big Chicago sports fan and cheers on the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks.  She also loves spending time with her family, traveling to warm destinations, and has a passion for photography.  She has many pictures of her son, so make sure you ask to see them when you come in!

  Carmen Ortiz, has been in the dental field for 25 years and landed herself a role as the insurance coordinator at Lake View Dental Associates.  Her role as the insurance coordinator is to make your visit with us as financial hassle free as possible.  She makes sure to have your insurance benefits ready prior to your arrival in order to avoid financial surprises.  Carmen has obtained much experience over the years and is happy to help patients with their questions or concerns regarding insurance.

Carmen has a tight-knit family and loves spending time with them.  She also enjoys gardening and being outdoors.  Combining both of her passions, Carmen plans yearly camping trips for her family.  Carmen finds pleasure in volunteering within her community and helping the homeless through an outreach community service.   

Weronika Szymczak, has been working as a dental assistant at Lake View Dental Associates since 2008.  She works so closely with Dr. Emalfarb that she knows what he’s going to need without him even telling her.  Weronika loves getting to know all of our patients and is able to keep patients calm and comfortable during dental visits.

Weronkia moved to Chicago from Poland with her family in 1996.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and her outgoing personality keeps others wanting to be around her as well.  She also loves to paint so  she’ll occasionally treat herself with a trip to Michaels to get new supplies.  Weronika is recently engaged and is planning a destination wedding for November 2012.  Her fiance and her are excited about starting a new chapter in their lives and can’t wait to celebrate their love with family and friends! 

Ruslana Ilyash, started working at Lake View Dental Associates as a dental assistant in 2010.  She has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Justice Studies and is also certified in dental assisting.  Ruslana has been assisting since 2006 and since has completed continuing education courses specializing in coronal polishing and implants.  She loves to assist during surgeries and finds that it keeps her frequently learning new things.  Most importantly, Ruslana likes to see patients happy at the end of their treatment.

Rulslana moved to Chicago from Ukraine with her family in 1997.  She speaks English, Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish all fluently.  Ruslana enjoys travelling and loves to learn the history behind the places she visits.  She also likes to spend time outdoors with her friends, whether it be rollerblading in the summer or ice skating in the winter.  Ruslana also enjoys reading books, watching movies, and playing pool.

Meg Kornacka, has a certificate from the Advanced School of Dental Assisting.  She is working at Lake View Dental Associates as a dental assistant, but you may also be greeted by her when you enter as she helps out at the front desk as well.  Meg also has certificates in coronal polishing and sealant, and basic life support.  Her versatility makes her a great addition to our team!

Meg was born in Poland and moved to Chicago’s suburbs in 1995.  In 2011, she moved to her current house in Chicago with her husband.  Meg enjoys salsa dancing, swimming, and cooking. 

Krystina Hegg, is our newest dental assistant at Lake View Dental Associates.  She has previous dental assisting experience and has been in the field for about four years.  Krystina’s friendly personality keeps all of our patients feeling at ease during dental visits.  She prefers to see the brighter side of things, and always has a smile on her face.

Krystina lives in the Northwest side of Chicago.  She loves to spend her time baking in the kitchen; she frequently visits bakeries to get new recipe ideas.  Krystina also enjoys spending time outdoors, except for in the winter!  In the springtime she likes to garden, and in the summer she enjoys going to the beach.  Krystina also has two dogs, Teddy and Tramp, and she enjoys taking them to the dog park.
